The New Balance 550 features a mid-top silhouette constructed using a combination of leather and synthetic textiles, with woven accents around the ankle area. The medial overlays are perforated, adding a visual touch to the design. The New Balance “N” logo stands out in a three-dimensional style on the sides, accompanied by “550” branding near the toe box. Additional branding can be found on the woven tongue label and along the spine of the shoe. The midsole is made of foam, and the outsole is crafted with a rubber tread for traction.
